Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to view our profile. We are Dan, Carrie, and Adilynn from Wisconsin. We have been happily married for 14 years. In 2013 we became a family of 3 and we cannot wait to soon become a family of 4! We know you must have many questions in mind as you think about a family to raise your child. If you trust us with your child, we promise to do everything to live up to that trust and to love your child unconditionally.
It is our hope that by reading our profile, you will get a glimpse into our home and our lives and see how we can give your child a life full of love, laughter, learning, and adventure. We have been blessed with a loving marriage, stable home, a good education, and financial resources. We hope our profile will show you what a caring, fun, loving, and responsible family we are and we would truly be honored to be a part of your adoption plan.
We met during Carrie’s senior year of college. Carrie used to work at a bank with Dan’s mom. Dan had moved back to the area after college to begin pursuing his chiropractic degree and he asked his mom who “the pretty blonde with the blue eyes was.” His mom introduced us one day while at work. Dan asked Carrie to go out for dinner and she happily agreed. We went to Applebees for dinner and then went bowling afterwards. Even though Dan got a better bowling score than her (he still doesn’t let her win!), she agreed to go out with him again and the rest is history! We dated for a year and a half before getting engaged, and we were engaged for a little over a year before getting married on a beautiful day in June of 2004.
I grew up in Illinois as an only child with two wonderful parents and our family dog, Joey. As a kid I enjoyed playing outside and skateboarding with friends and neighbor kids. I excelled in school and was on the honor roll. I participated in golf, tennis, football, and swimming during high school. I worked my way through college by working construction jobs and learned a lot from that experience. I am active in my community in various organizations and love to get together with friends to play golf or go for a bike ride. I am excited to be expanding our family through adoption. Dan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Eastern Illinois University. After working in computer sales for a few years, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a chiropractor. He has a Doctorate Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and currently works as a Chiropractor in southwest Wisconsin. He has been working at a local clinic since 2006 and became part owner in the practice seven years ago. Dan is very active with different organizations in the community including United Way and the local Chamber.
I grew up in Illinois with my parents and younger brother. When I was younger, I enjoyed going camping on the weekends and going to the swimming pool with friends during the summer. While in school I had perfect attendance for 4 years and was on the honor roll. I played volleyball and ran track during junior high and high school. During my senior year of college I traveled to Cuba for a human issues project. Family has always been important to me and we try to get together as much as our schedules allow. I enjoy playing in a volleyball league, making scrapbooks, and being outside doing anything. I can’t wait to meet the newest member of our family and introduce them to all of the love and wonderful opportunities we have to offer. Carrie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Edgewood College. She worked in the banking industry for many years before making a career change to higher education. Carrie currently works in accounting at a local private college.
Adilynn is our smiley, smart, fun 4 1/2 year old. She is our miracle baby and we are so grateful for her everyday. Adi is the biggest fan of anything Minnie Mouse! She loves the color pink and being a princess. Her favorite activities include going to the park, reading books, going to the zoo, and going to the Wisconsin Dells. Adilynn loves to play “house” and she cannot wait to be a big sister! She attends an in-home daycare while we are at work. This fall she will start preschool. She has lots of fun everyday making crafts, playing outside, and having circle time. She loves to go and see her friends everyday! We are always amazed at how smart she is.
We have been proud pet owners for the past 12 years. Bailey is a great family dog who is very loyal and very sweet! He loves to be outside whether it’s going for a walk or riding in the car. His favorite things to do are cuddle and give kisses! He joined our family in January of 2006. He and Adilynn are best buddies. We recently adopted another Boxer, Wrigley. He has been an energetic addition to our family!
We just built a new house in 2016 in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood on the edge of town. It is a traditional ranch home with four bedrooms and a finished basement. We recently put in a swimming pool and fire pit, and Adilynn has a playset to play on. Our house sits on a quiet street within a cul-de-sac. There are many families that live on our street and it’s not unusual to see kids playing outside until dusk. We are within close distance to the swimming pool, two parks, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds. We are fortunate to have good schools and safe neighborhoods in our town.
When your child arrives into our family, he or she will not only inherit two loving parents and a wonderful big sister, but also an extended family of relatives and close friends that will love and care for him or her. We both grew up in a loving and caring two-parent household. We both had nightly dinners as a family and took vacations during the summer. We are continuing those traditions in our house. Adilynn loves our annual trip to the Wisconsin Dells! Our families get together for holidays, birthdays, and other special events. Most everyone lives within an hour of us so we see each other often. Both of our parents and our extended family and friends are very supportive of our decision to adopt.
We have developed a close network of friends that we consider family. Many of our friends have younger kids and we frequently get together with them so the kids can play. We love doing things as a family and we want to make sure Adilynn and her brother or sister have great childhood memories to look back on one day.
We are a unified front when it comes to how we raise our children. We will have a loving household with family time and play time. Raising a child, guiding them, and offering them a world full of experiences will be our biggest priority. We will do our best to begin each day with love, patience, and understanding. Every child deserves love, support, and opportunity. We will honor the generous gift we have been given by pledging to raise the most gentle, thoughtful and compassionate person- one that will make you proud.
We promise to be honest and respectful to you now and always. We will make sure our child knows the special way in which he or she came into our lives to make us a forever family. Thank you for thinking of the amazing gift of adoption.
We are all in this journey together.
