We are Jen & Dom, a fun, down to earth couple from Brooklyn, NY. We are so excited and ready to open our hearts to the world of parenthood! Our longtime dream of raising a family begins here. We have an incredible support system of family and friends. Your baby will have a great foundation to grow on and will always know what an amazing person you are to us.
We are so grateful you have taken the time to read about us. We have to commend you for having such strength and courage during this time. As you get to know us, we hope you find comfort in knowing how much we’d love to share our lives with a child through adoption. It may also ease your mind to know that Dominic has been in a similar situation as yours and can relate to the challenges you are facing. He is a birthparent who placed a baby for adoption many years ago and has recently reconnected.
We met on a blind date set up by mutual friends. We had a nice dinner and played billiards. Dom told friends after our first date that he had met the woman he was going to marry! After 16 months of dating, Dom proposed on the deck of a dinner cruise around lower Manhattan, near the Statue of Liberty. It was incredibly romantic! In October 2004, we were married in church followed by a beautiful reception on Long Island.
Marriage is definitely an adventure. We have our ups and downs like any other relationship, but we are happy. We are married 13 years now. We occasionally celebrate our anniversary in Disney World where we also honeymooned. Our relationship is strong. We will always be there for one another as we will for your child. We have been patiently waiting for the next chapter of our lives to begin and become parents.
We tried having a family on our own and faced many years of infertility issues. Although we were disappointed, our determination to have a family stayed strong and we quickly switched gears towards adoption.
We are blessed to have a loving, supportive family with whom we are very close. Dom has one brother, James. James and his wife live down the block from us with their 3 young daughters. Dom’s aunt & uncle, who are like parents to us, live in the neighborhood also. Dom has a large extended family within and outside of NY. He also has 2 adopted cousins.
Members of Jen’s immediate family reside in NYC and South Carolina. Jen has one brother, John, who is married and has 2 sons. She also has step-siblings and extended family out of state.
Our holidays and parties with family are a special time to catch up and reminisce. Our heritage is mostly Italian so there’s always plenty of good food to be had! Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas are biggest for us. We have annual July 4th barbecues and spur of the moment get- togethers as well!
Our parents brought us up to be responsible, independent, respectful people. They made sure we had a good scholastic background and we always tried to do the best we could. We promise to teach your baby these qualities and more.
Besides our family, our friends were so thrilled to find out we decided to become adoptive parents! They know how hard we tried to have a family. We are so lucky to have a great group of friends that we’ve known for many years. Some of them have children also. In fact, we are godparents to friends and family members.
We live in a two-family house on a quaint, quiet, tree-lined street in Brooklyn, NY. We have 4 bedrooms, lots of play space, and a beautiful enclosed backyard with a small flower garden. Our dogs love to run outside, play with their toys or sunbathe on the patio. We love spending nights back there around the fire pit toasting marshmallows.
We are 2 blocks walking distance away from local shopping, church, the subway, a huge park, and good schools. A quick train or car ride brings us into Manhattan where there is so much to see and do. Our neighborhood community is strong. It is full of small businesses, restaurants, and good people. Every year we have a block party. All the neighbors set up tables outside, invite family & friends, & enjoy music, food, drinks and activities. It’s one big summer party! Activities included are rides, face-painting, karaoke, & pony rides.
Also in our area are many parades celebrating various holidays and events, flea markets, street fairs, & farmers markets. There are many kid-friendly and family oriented activities going on throughout the city on any given weekend. There are little league sports and cub/girl scouts. We are close to Coney Island, museums, music and theater venues, zoos, aquariums, and more!
Dominic is a union electrician and former carpenter. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. He is easy going and tends to be the life of the party. One of his best qualities is his sense of humor. Dominic loves to tell a good story and make people laugh, just like his dad did. He is a hard worker and is great at fixing things. With children, Dominic shines. His inner child comes out when he plays with his nieces, nephew, and god-children. He loves fishing, the outdoors and goes camping every year. Dom loves to relax in the backyard with our 2 dogs, enjoys rock and country music and watching sports.
Jennifer is a devoted wife, a caring daughter, & a fun, playful aunt to her nieces, nephews and godson. She was born and raised in Queens, NY. Her kind and friendly nature is refreshing. She is family oriented and goes out of her way to help others. Jen cherishes time with family and friends.
Jen is a professional pediatric registered nurse. She takes care of children with special needs. Jen has always wanted to work with children and have some of her own. She loves to cook, bake, travel, shop, read, and watch hockey. Jen loves classic rock, new country and dance music and enjoys going to concerts and shows.
We like to get out during the fall and winter to do seasonal activities like fall harvest festivals, pumpkin and apple picking, and looking at Christmas lights around town drinking hot cocoa.
We are honored to have shared our life with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to view our profile. We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to learning about you and the wishes for your baby.
