Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile. We are so excited to meet you!
We live in a beach town in Southern California. Andy works as an engineer and Liz is a professional harpist. We met in Philadelphia ten years ago, and have been inseparable ever since! We moved to California to be closer to our families. Andy has ten siblings. His parents are kind, caring, and so important to us. They have over forty grandchildren, but they still make time to show Maya that she’s special and loved. Liz has one sibling, and her whole family plays musical instruments. We all bond over music, playing together whenever we can. Both of our parents have been married for almost fifty years, and have been an inspiring example for us.

We adopted our daughter Maya in 2017. We have loved every minute of being her mom and dad, and have kept in contact with her birthmom with pictures and letters. Maya is a bright, funny, smart, bubbly little girl who is beyond excited about being a big sister. We are looking to adopt a second child who can make our family complete. Our siblings are very important to us, and we want to be sure that Maya has the same opportunity to have a sister or brother to love and support.
We also have room in our hearts and home for another wonderful child, and can’t wait to help them thrive and reach their dreams. One thing we love about adoption is that we know that this child may be very different from us, which will expand our world to include all of their individual interests and talents.
About Andy (written by Liz)
Andy is an intelligent, caring, thoughtful, and kind person. He loves Maya so much, and will drop everything just to make her happy. He is also a great example for her, and cares for his community and family, always making sure to keep up with his parents and ten siblings, while still making time for friends and neighbors.
Two of his siblings were adopted, so he is very sensitive to the needs of adopted children. Andy works as an engineer and is a great provider for our family. He has won many awards, including Young Engineer of the Year, and his coworkers always have great things to say about him.
Finally, he is a devoted husband and partner. He is more on top of chores than I am! He’s always full of surprises and fun, and we have so many adventures. He loves nature and traveling, so we spend a lot of time camping and flying all around the world. I am so excited to see his love grow as we add another child to our family.
About Liz (written by Andy)
In all of the 10 years that I have been with Liz, she has remained the most remarkable person I have known. Early in our relationship she amazed me with her humor and drive. After she completed graduate school and started a professional career as a harpist, she was immediately recognized as a force of talent.
She has created an interesting career, not only performing all over the globe, but also doing philanthropic work with her art. When she started teaching children in schools, I became excited to become a parent with her. She is universally invested in each of the children she taught, and I couldn’t wait to see that energy turned to our own child.
When we adopted Maya, Liz humbled me with her patience and love for our child. Liz’s intelligence and curiosity shines through all her interactions with Maya. Liz’s thoughtfulness moves me to try to be a better husband and father. Liz’s ability to forge her path has created a wonderful space in our family for strong togetherness and avenues for her to express her artistic skills. Maya and I love traveling with her to performances and going on exciting tours. I find joy in supporting her as she grows personally and professionally, and seeing Maya blossom with her is the most satisfying experience I have had.
Our Home & Community
As a family we love to get outdoors. We spend our time hiking, camping, playing on the beach, and enjoying our local parks and gardens. We also love to travel the world. Maya has already been to five countries outside of the US, and loves to see new places. Maya also loves singing and dancing, so we have dance parties at home and play music while she sings. We have dinner and read together as a family every night, and enjoy pizza and movie nights on Fridays. Holidays are spent at the grandparents’ house with cousins and extended family. Family is very important to us, so we spend as much time together as possible.
Our Thoughts about Parenting & Adoption
First of all, we are happy to chat, no matter where you are in your decision-making process, even if you are not sure you want to place your baby for adoption. We understand that this is a huge decision, and we are here to help you decide what’s best for you, not pressure you into any kind of choice. We also promise to uphold whatever kind of adoption you are looking for. Our adoption with Maya’s birthmom is open, and we are happy to honor whatever specific needs you have as well.
If you do decide to place your child with us, we will love you and your child unconditionally, as we love Maya and her birthmom, and will support them and help them become whoever they want to be. They will always have a loving big sister in Maya and two parents that have their back.
