About Us
We met in college and it was love at first sight–for Jon :). He asked Nadia for her number and she said no! But we kept running into each other and soon started dating. Loving each other has been the easiest and happiest thing we’ve ever done.
While we’re both passionate about our careers, we know what’s truly important in life and we never sweat the small stuff. We’re silly and easy going. We love being outside and creating new things. We like to travel, especially to National Parks, and explore new cities. We have a piece of art from every place we’ve been!
We love spending quiet time with each other and also having noisy and chaotic get-togethers with all our friends and family! We have a BIG circle of wonderful humans and are surrounded by so much love. There are a ton of young kids and babies in our circle, so our little one will have so many playmates to grow up with!
We have two dogs who are the light of our lives! We rescued Rowley, a 4-year-old Aussie mix, from a local shelter. He is super gentle, incredibly wise, and a big mush. We are also fostering Bloom, an energetic 1-year-old black Lab puppy. She’s a guide dog in-training and since she was 8 weeks old we have been teaching her good behavior! She’s so smart and we hope to one day see her as a guide dog for someone who is blind.
We’re also HUGE nerds about gardening. Every year we try to grow as much of our veggies as we can and buy the rest from local farms. We go to the farmer’s market every weekend and are always learning about different ways to help care for our environment.
Family traditions are important to us and we’re looking forward to creating some of our own with our kids, like making homemade pasta on Valentine’s day, hiking in the mountains on New Years, and donating to charities every Christmas.
We can’t wait to show our sweet little one all of our favorite things like sailing and swimming in the ocean, planting and tending seeds in the garden, and sunset walks on the beach with the dogs. We want to take him or her hiking in the nearby nature preserve, play games in front of the fireplace, and make fun crafts at home.
Most of all, we’re looking forward to the little things: diaper changes, sleepless nights, making pancakes, reading bedtime stories, doing homework, and going to little league games. We’re ready for it all.

Our Home & Community
We live in a charming waterfront village in New York. We landed here 9 years ago and have never looked back. Sunset over the harbor is pure magic. We lived downtown for several years before buying our home 3 years ago.
We’re looking forward to bringing our little one to play in the park, listen to live music downtown, see local art shows, play with friends at the street fairs and carnivals, visit the farmer’s market, and watch holiday parades.
We have great schools and opportunities for different activities like sailing, swimming, ballet, karate, and science camp! And if we’re ever craving a little bit more, we take a quick train ride to New York City for museums, Broadway shows, and concerts. There’s also an active local social justice movement led by friends who are passionate about making positive changes in our neighborhood.
We’ve renovated our home through the years and love spending time here with family, friends, and neighbors. In the summers we grill pizza or do a huge shrimp boil and hang out on the deck. In the winters we snuggle around the fireplace with the pups, bake bread, and play board games.
Our favorite part of our home has to be the organic garden we created in our backyard. We plant seeds in the spring and harvest the most delicious fruits and veggies through the fall. Our garden is even equipped with a chicken coop that Jon built! Our hens lay fresh eggs for us daily and it’s hilarious to watch them run around looking for bugs :).

Our Thoughts about Parenting & Adoption
We have always thought of parenting as a way to spread more love into the world. Adoption amplifies that because we get to love not only a child, but their birth family as well.
We hope to teach our child how to be compassionate, kind, respectful, curious, playful, thoughtful, and truthful. We want to show our kids all the beauty in the world, without sugar-coating the hard parts. We know that adoption is not a fairytale story of sunshine and rainbows. We promise to always acknowledge the hard stuff and make sure our child and their birth parents always feel seen, heard, and loved.
Although we came to adoption after a long journey of loss, we are so honored to be able to build our family this way and to witness the special bond between our child, their birth parents, and us. Our child will always be accepted just the way they are, and taught that they are valued and unique.
We hope to have an open adoption so that we can all learn from and support one another. We will always talk about and honor our child’s birth family and their traditions and cultures.
